At Lilliput House Care Home, our goal is to make the Christmas season one of joy and celebration for all our residents and their families. We’ve got some wonderful treats and activities lined up for everyone over the coming weeks. Here’s a sneak peek at what’s coming up in our calendar of events:
Dec 6th: 20-piece singing choir
Who? Residents and staff
What? Our festive season starts with a real musical treat as we invite a local choir to sing their favourite Christmas tunes to get us into the spirit.
Dec 8th: Christmas Jumper Day
Who? Residents, staff and managers
What? We’ll be joining the millions of people up and down the UK who’ll be donning their festive jumpers in support of Save the Children. We’ve even got prizes set aside for the three best ones!
Dec 15th: Mothers and Toddlers visit
Who? Residents
What? Christmas is all about the excitement and joy for children. Join us as we invite local mothers and toddlers with children from 18 months to 6 years to come along and entertain us. This is also the launch of our own regular Mother and Toddler Group, which will visit us once a month.
Dec 19th: Church carol service
Who? Residents, their families and the local community
What? We’ve been busy making angels for the angel festival at our local church (Holy Angels) which will be on show at our annual carol service – complete with mince pies, drinks and transportation.
Dec 21st: Residents’ Christmas party

What? This is probably our favourite in the calendar! We’ve got lots of exciting activities planned, including fancy dress, games and, of course, a traditional Christmas meal. Hats, fun and laughter are the order of the day!
Dec 22nd: Christmas lights outing

What? This is an opportunity not to be missed! We’ll be using hired transport to see all the local Christmas decorations around Sandbanks to really get us into that holiday spirit.
Dec 23rd: Little Teddies Playgroup

What? We’ll be continuing our build-up to Christmas as children from Canford Cliffs come along to sing songs for our residents and bring delicious gingerbread biscuits!
Dec 29th: Tea and cake

What? Our fun doesn’t stop on December 26th. We’ll be taking residents to Haskins Garden Centre to have a look around at the Christmas decorations, admire the plants and flowers and visit the animals there. All this will be topped off with delicious tea and cake in the restaurant.
Dec 30th: Elton John tribute
Who? Residents
What? Local legend, 8-year-old Aleesha, who started entertaining residents in care homes during lockdown, will be selecting her favourite Elton John numbers to sing for our residents as we head towards the New Year.
