As April arrives, we see the beauty of spring with flowers blooming, spring showers, and longer days filled with sunlight. At Lilliput House in Poole, we’re excited by this time of growth and change, so we’ve put together a fun calendar of events to celebrate these special days. Join us in lots of exciting activities that will help us make friends and have a great time together while enjoying the wonderful things April brings to our lovely location.
Apr 3rd: Sunny Days Nursery
Who? Residents, staff and public
What? Expect lots of fun as we visit Sunny Days Nursery, where our residents can join in with the various day’s activities and enjoy a cup of tea and delicious cake.
Apr 5th: Morning trip to Poole Park
Who? Residents, staff and public
What? We’ll be looking for signs of spring and hopefully enjoying some lovely weather as we walk around the park, followed by our usual stop for tea and cake.
Apr 5th: Afternoon Alpaca adventure
Who? Residents and staff
What? Experience a taste of South America as we play host to our gentle and curious alpaca visitors. Residents and staff will be delighted as the alpacas make their way around the home and even venture into the lift to greet our residents in their own rooms on different floors!
Apr 12th: Church service in the lounge
Who? Residents and staff
What? We’ll be holding our monthly church service in the lounge for our residents. The Rev. Kate from Holy Angels presides over the service and is also available to talk to residents individually in their own rooms if they wish.
Apr 13th: Singer and entertainer: Steve Linn
Who? Residents and staff
What? Our regular entertainer, Steve Linn, will be singing all those classics from the 60s and 70s to lift the spirits and bring some energy. Steve’s skills aren’t just limited to singing – he’s a great dancer, and is guaranteed to bring a huge smile to everyone’s face.
Apr 19th: Trip to Mudeford Quay

What? Fresh air is guaranteed as we walk along the quay to take in the fabulous views and enjoy watching the many boats. But, of course, no trip is complete without tea and cake!
Apr 26th: Dance session
Who? Residents
What? Dig out those dancing shoes and get moving with the help of our dance therapist, Jane. This popular session is loved by our residents, who enjoy the lift that dance and movement bring.
Apr 28th: Mr Kelloggs (therapy pony)
Who? Residents and staff
What? VIP Shetland pony, Mr Kelloggs, is always a hit with our residents and is guaranteed to bring a smile to everyone as he tours the home. Like our alpaca visitor, he is happy to go in the lift to meet residents in their rooms on different floors.
