February may be the shortest month of the year, but at Lilliput, we’ve packed it full of ideas for fun activities and adventures for our residents and their families. Here’s a summary of what’s already in the calendar.
Feb 9th: Outing to Castlepoint
Who? Residents and staff
What? We’ll be visiting Castlepoint shopping centre by disabled transport taxi for a look around the shops, followed by delicious tea and cake.
Feb 13th: Sharandy’s bird of prey show
Who? Residents
What? Expect some very special visitors as we play host to a stunning collection of owls and birds of prey, hear all about how their handlers look after them on a daily basis as well as enjoying a delightful show from the birds.
Feb 16th: Outing to Upton Country Park (weather permitting)
Who? Residents and staff
What? We’ll be visiting Poole’s award-winning country park to marvel at the impressive gardens, enjoy the wildlife and take in the delights of the impressive Grade II listed Georgian mansion. And in true Lilliput-style, we’ll stop off at the tea rooms for well-deserved refreshments.
Feb 23rd: Mothers and Toddlers visit

What? Following a successful launch in December, join us this month as we invite local mothers and toddlers with children from 18 months to 6 years to come along and entertain us. The visits take place on the last Thursday of every month.
Feb 24th: Indian theme day
Who? Residents, staff and families
What? Each month we highlight a different theme, and for February, we’re going to focus on India. With fancy dress for the staff (and prizes to be won), themed food tastings and some Bollywood dancing, we’ll be bringing a real experience and taste of Indian culture
Feb 27th: Residents meeting

What? Once a month, we ask our residents to come along and give their feedback on any aspect of life in the home – from ongoing and future events to menu choices or ways to mark special celebrations. Everyone is welcome!
