In March, our thoughts naturally turn to spring with images of slightly warmer days, daffodils and birds nesting and singing. But at Lilliput House, it’s not just the birds that are singing! We’ve got a musically-inspired calendar of exciting activities to welcome in the new season.
March 2nd: Swinging Sinatra
Who? Residents and staff
What? We’ll be hosting our very own ‘Frank Sinatra’ here in the lounge. So, sing along and dance to all the golden oldies as our favourite tribute artist returns to provide the best in jazz and swing entertainment. Not only that, he knows our residents by name and treats them to an individual serenade!
March 6th: Rock Choir
Who? Residents, staff and families
What? Delight in a visit from our local 30-piece rock choir and support charities at the same time. This is a first for Lilliput, and we’re super-excited to welcome the choir as we listen and sing along to all the old classic rock and pop songs through the decades. Everyone is invited!
March 15th: Church service
Who? Residents
What? The singing continues with our monthly church service in the lounge for our residents. The Rev. Kate from Holy Angels presides over the service and is also available to talk to residents individually if they wish.
March 16th: Trip to Salterns Marina (weather permitting)
Who? 1:1 resident and staff
What? Sometimes we all need a little bit of a pick-me-up. So, we’ll be on the lookout for that special resident needing a little extra TLC. Our staff will take them out to nearby Salterns Marina for coffee, where they can admire the boats and stunning views towards Brownsea Island whilst greeting other locals along the way.
March 23rd: Outing to Poole Quay

What? We’ll be enjoying the fresh sea air as we head over to Poole Quay to enjoy the boats and take in the views before stopping for tea and cake along the promenade.
March 30th: Mothers and Toddlers visit
Who? Residents, staff and families
What? Each month we invite local mothers and toddlers with children from 18 months to 6 years to come along and entertain us. The visits take place on the last Thursday of every month and are always very popular with our residents.
